Frooition Products keeps your eBay and BigCommerce stores in step from one catalogue. When something sells or changes on one channel, the price and stock update on the other straight away. This guide shows you how to connect your BigCommerce store and get your first sync running. It takes about 5 minutes.
What you need
- A BigCommerce store, and permission to install apps on it.
- An eBay seller account. If you don't have a Frooition account yet, that's fine, you can create a free one during setup.
Step 1: Install the app in BigCommerce
- Sign in to your BigCommerce control panel.
- Go to Apps, then Marketplace, and search for Frooition.
- Click Install and confirm the permissions.
Step 2: Open the app
- In your BigCommerce control panel, go to Apps and click the Frooition app icon.
- You'll be taken to Frooition in a new page.
Step 3: Log in or create an account
Frooition asks if you already have an account:
- I already have a Frooition account: log in with your usual Frooition username and password, and your BigCommerce store is connected to that account.
- I'm new to Frooition: we create a free Frooition account for your store, using the email address on your BigCommerce login.
Either way, you'll land on the Products page with the setup walkthrough open.
Step 4: Follow the setup walkthrough
The walkthrough has five short steps. You can click Finish later at any point and pick up where you left off.
1. Connect channels
Your BigCommerce store shows as Connected. If eBay isn't connected yet, connect it here too. Then click Continue.
2. Bring in products
Choose where your products come from:
- Import from eBay and BigCommerce (recommended): brings in everything, and links products that appear on both.
- eBay is my main catalogue: imports from eBay. You can then list those products on BigCommerce.
- BigCommerce is my main catalogue: imports from BigCommerce. You can then list those products on eBay.
Products are matched between channels by SKU. Any product without a SKU won't be linked until you add one, so it's worth checking your SKUs first.
3. Sync rules
Choose which channel leads on price and stock:
- Keep both in step (two-way): a change on either channel is copied to the other.
- eBay leads or BigCommerce leads: only changes on that channel are copied across.
Edits you make inside Frooition are always pushed to every channel.
Then choose what happens when a product sells out: Show as out of stock, End the listing, or Leave it alone.
Finally, set your eBay listing defaults (shipping, payment and return policies, and item location postcode). These are used when you list a product on eBay from Frooition.
4. Map categories
eBay and BigCommerce use different categories. For each eBay category, pick the matching BigCommerce category. You only need to do this once, and every product in that category will list in the right place. You don't have to match them all now, you can come back and finish later.
5. First sync
Check your choices, then click Start first sync. You can keep working while it runs.
Nothing changes on your channels yet. The first sync only reads your listings into Frooition. No prices, stock or titles are changed on eBay or BigCommerce.
After setup
That's it. From now on, eBay and BigCommerce tell Frooition the moment something sells or changes, so there's nothing to schedule. To get back to Frooition any time, click the Frooition app icon in BigCommerce, or log in at freedom.frooition.com and open Products.
