Using Frooition for eBay with Claude

Frooition for eBay connects Claude, the AI assistant, to your eBay store through your Frooition account. Once it's connected, you can ask Claude about your listings in plain English and have it make changes for you: find listings that aren't selling, run optimisation reports, update prices and stock, create new listings and more.

What you need

• A Frooition account with your eBay store connected.
• A Claude account at claude.ai, or the Claude desktop or mobile app.
• Toolkit accounts can connect on any plan, including the free plan. Pro and TopDawg accounts need an active subscription.

How to connect

1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
2. Find Frooition for eBay in the connector list and click Connect. If you're adding it as a custom connector instead, click Add custom connector, give it a name, and enter this URL:

3. A Frooition sign-in page opens. Sign in with your usual Frooition username and password.
4. Choose which eBay account(s) Claude is allowed to manage. If you have linked accounts, you can pick some or all of them.
5. Click Allow access. You'll be taken back to Claude, and the connector is ready to use.

Claude can only see and change the eBay accounts you ticked on that screen. To add another account later, disconnect and connect again, then tick it.

What you can ask Claude to do

• Browse your listings: search your live listings by title, or look up any item in full detail.
• Find underperforming listings: Claude compares every listing against your own store's normal traffic and says why each one is struggling: nobody is seeing it, people see it but don't click, or people click but don't buy. Each needs a different fix.
• Run optimisation reports: get a score for any listing, covering title, description, item specifics, shipping, returns and compliance, with the biggest improvements first.
• Update a listing: price, quantity, title, description, images, an item specific, handling time, listing duration, item location or design.
• Bulk update listings: make the same change across all your live listings, or a list of item numbers.
• Create new listings: Claude finds the right eBay category and its required item specifics, then lists the item using your business policies.
• Upload images: add photos to your Frooition Media Hosting and use them on listings.
• Preview designs: see how a listing would look with one of your saved Frooition designs before applying it.

What it costs

Most things are free. A few actions use Frooition credits, exactly as they do in the Frooition app. Claude tells you before it does anything that costs credits.

On the free plan, new listings are created without a design unless you ask for one, so creating a listing never spends a credit by surprise. If a change that cost a credit is rejected by eBay, the credit is refunded automatically.

You can buy credits at any time from Frooition Credits, or upgrade on the Packages page.

Good to know

• Changes are live straight away. When Claude updates or creates a listing, it happens on eBay immediately. There's no undo, so check what Claude is about to do before you say yes.
• Bulk changes are previewed first. Claude always tells you how many listings will change, and what it will cost, before it goes ahead. Nothing happens until you confirm. Bulk jobs then run in the background and can take a few minutes. You can follow them on the Bulk Revision page.
• Claude checks its own work. After changing a listing, Claude reads the result back from eBay rather than assuming it worked.
• Listing searches can lag slightly. Browsing your whole store uses Frooition's copy of your listings, which can be a short time behind eBay. Looking up a specific item number always checks eBay directly.
• Images must be at least 500px on their longest side, or eBay will reject them.
• Traffic analysis needs traffic data. If your store's traffic data is old or hasn't been collected yet, Claude will say so rather than guess.

Troubleshooting

• "This Frooition account does not have access to the MCP connector." Your account type needs a subscription to connect. Pro and TopDawg accounts need an active Boost or TopDawg subscription. Contact us if you think this is wrong.
• "You don't have enough credits." Top up at Frooition Credits, or ask Claude to do the same thing without the paid part. For example, create the listing without a design.
• "This plan includes 1,000 hosted files." You've reached the free Media Hosting limit. Delete some files in Media Hosting, or upgrade to Premium for unlimited hosting.
• Claude says an account isn't authorised. That eBay account wasn't ticked when you connected. Disconnect Frooition for eBay in Claude's Connectors settings, connect again, and tick the account.
• Claude asks you to sign in again. Your connection has expired. Follow the sign-in prompt and choose your accounts again.

Disconnecting

You can end Claude's access from either side:

• In Frooition: go to Account > Connected apps and revoke Claude. This ends the connection, even if the connector is still installed in Claude. Any access token Claude already holds stops working within 20 minutes at most.
• In Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, and disconnect or remove Frooition for eBay.

Security and privacy (for IT administrators)

This section is for anyone reviewing the connector before approving it for their organisation.

How it works

• Connector URL: https://mcp.frooition.com/mcp, a remote MCP server using the Streamable HTTP transport over HTTPS.
• Operator: Frooition. The server runs on Amazon Web Services (us-east-1) and talks to eBay through Frooition's existing eBay integration. Claude never receives the seller's eBay token.
• What it can reach: only the eBay accounts attached to the user's own Frooition account, and only the ones the user ticks when connecting.

Authentication

• OAuth 2.1 authorization code flow with PKCE (S256 only). The authorization server is https://secure.frooition.com/connect. Metadata is published at https://secure.frooition.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server/connect and https://mcp.frooition.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource.
• Users sign in with their Frooition credentials on a Frooition-hosted page. Claude never sees the password. Failed sign-ins are rate limited.
• OAuth clients are registered with Frooition in advance, and redirect URIs must match exactly. There is no dynamic client registration.
• Access tokens are RS256-signed JWTs that last 20 minutes. They carry the Frooition account and the list of eBay accounts the user approved.
• Refresh tokens are rotated on every use and expire 90 days after the user connects, however often they're used. If a refresh token is used twice, every token from that connection is revoked, since reuse suggests it was stolen.
• Authorization codes are single-use and expire after 60 seconds.
• Every request is checked against the user's current plan. Every tool call is also checked server-side, and a call naming an eBay account the user didn't approve is refused.

What it can do

• Read: listing details, listing performance and traffic, optimisation reports, and saved designs.
• Write: revise live listings, create new listings, queue bulk revisions, and upload images to the user's Frooition media hosting. Bulk revisions need a preview and then explicit confirmation before anything is queued.
• It can't access orders, payments, buyer messages, billing details or account settings.

Data handling

• The connector doesn't store your Claude conversations. It processes each request and returns the result.
• Design previews are stored for 1 hour so the preview link works, then deleted.
• Uploaded images are held in a temporary staging area while they're processed. They're then stored in the user's own Frooition media hosting, like any other upload.
• Connection events (sign-in, consent, token issue and refresh) are recorded in an audit log. Listing revisions made through the connector are logged in the account's Bulk Revision history, the same as revisions made in the app.

Revoking access

Users can revoke the connection at any time from Account > Connected apps in Frooition. That revokes the refresh token straight away. Access tokens aren't checked against a revocation list, so one that's already been issued stays valid until it expires, 20 minutes at most.
